The biggest key is to do things that increase your confidence rather than make you more nervous. If people think that practicing with a mirror or a friend will help, they should give it a try. This is actually really helpful. I have not had that much experience with the interview process. I like your advice to "leave all of your standards of performance with the preparation portion of the process." This is a great way to give yourself the best shot possible without putting too much pressure on yourself.
